Welcome to the online home of Jim Moran. A filmmaker and award-winning photographer, Jim has been active in the communication business for five decades.

A professional photographer for almost four decades, Jim spent 21 years with the Yorkshire Post in Leeds before turning freelance. His images have been reproduced all over the world in newspapers, magazines, books and on the web.

A specialist in the realms of film and theatre, Jim has worked extensively on location, covering the shoots of a number of feature films made in the Yorkshire region. His subjects have included film stars Jean Simmons, Kenneth Branagh, Ewan McGregor and Sir Ian McKellen, international movie-makers such as Ken Loach and national treasures like Alan Bennett and Michael Palin.

He has served as film and video archivist for Bradford International Film Festival and the Fantastic Films Weekend, both based at the National Media Museum. He is also the co-creator of the coffee table book Made in Yorkshire (Guerilla Books, 2008), an in-depth chronicle of 120 years of filmmaking in the Yorkshire region.

Jim would like to advise clients and prospective clients that although he has moved to reside in Co Down, Northern Ireland, he will still be undertaking work in Northern Ireland and in the Yorkshire region.
